Donna Kell is the founder and owner of the Kell Group, LLC, a medical practice billing and consulting company formed in June 1999. Prior to establishing her own billing organization, Donna worked as a consultant with a Pittsburgh-based accounting firm, performing operations assessments of medical practices.
Before focusing on the billing and consulting arenas, Donna had gained over fifteen years of physician practice management experience - working primarily in the areas of accounts receivable administration, information systems development, human resources management and general operations. She has held operations management positions in a variety of primary care and specialty settings, both private and network-based.
Donna's expertise in medical billing and accounts receivable management encompasses the specialties of anesthesiology, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, critical care, internal medicine, family practice, gastroenterology, general surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oncology and hematology, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, pediatrics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical, speech and occupational therapy, plastic/reconstructive surgery, podiatry and pulmonary and sleep medicine.
Prior to her entry into the health industry, Donna sold and installed mainframe computer systems and systems software for the IBM Corporation. She holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, and a master's degree in public management (with concentrations in management of financial resources and health systems management) from Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz School.
